Assessments
These days, we run serious risks of over-diagnosis and over-medicalisation. Schools pressurise parents to get assessments. Exam boards demand clinical assessments of a child’s psychiatric, not necessarily medical, problems. And so the situation escalates.
If an assessment is all you want and need, I will provide one. In fact, our wait times for assessments are short (in most cases less than 4 weeks, so no need for additional ‘fast-track’ fees that some clinics charge).
However, ticking boxes alone merely results in a label, not a treatment. And patients need to be guided back to health, not to a life of medication.
Comprehensive Integrative Psychiatric Assessment
These assessments are the speciality of our practice. Rather than simplistic diagnostic categories, we look at the whole person, taking into account pre, peri-natal and developmental experiences, family, school and social contexts and physical and metabolic contributory factors. We adapt this to match the child’s age and stage of development.
An assessment of up to two-hours includes:
*Extra cost.

Autism
We provide developmental (modified ADI) and additional interactional (ADOS-2) interview as needed. A full autism diagnosis may require an ADOS-2 assessment at an extra cost of £500. This will be a multi-disciplinary assessment. More complex cases are charged on an individual basis.
Metabolic Testing
Hair, urine, genetics and adrenal test are the usual baseline tests, but others can be used as appropriate, to be confirmed within the initial assessment.
Follow-ups
The first follow-up appointment includes results interpretation and supplement protocol and costs £600. Standard follow-ups are charged at £350 for up to one hour. Please note, if you have a pre-existing report and diagnosis (ADHD and/or ASD) and are just seeking medication, we will review that report to quality assure it ourselves.
Additional Support
Cancellations within three working days of the appointment times will be charged at the full rate. Cancellations should be made by phone and email. Please note I do not work to timed sessions and sometimes assessments may take longer than one session. If the initial assessment lasts more than 90 minutes or a follow-up takes longer than 60 minutes there may be additional charges.
Terms and Insurance
Following changes in the insurance market in the UK we now only work with WPA Insurance (any shortfalls not covered by WPA Insurance remain the liability of the patient/client). A deposit payment of £500 is required to secure the initial appointment unless using WPA Insurance. Invoices to be settled within 7 days of date of invoice, interest will be added payable by the client.
